Exclusive.com Launches After $350,000 Domain Purchase

May 13, 2021 by James Iles

In March, GoDaddy treated the domain community to another insight into its domain sales activity. Every month, the industry-leading domain name company gives us a glimpse of the domain deals that happen every day via its marketplace, auction, and brokerage divisions. The data release is always delayed by months to get various approvals and clearances, but it doesn’t matter. It’s valuable data nonetheless.

Leading the 20 sales that GoDaddy shared in March was Exclusive.com, which sold for $350,000 in a brokered deal. According to WHOIS history, GoDaddy facilitated the acquisition of the domain from True Magic LLC, a domain investment company belonging to entrepreneur Merlin Kauffman, who is the CEO and founder of Soothe, a popular wellness company that has raised $78.3 million to date.

The name was acquired by Robin Weesie, a Dutch entrepreneur who is no stranger to premium .COM domains, as he already operates a company on Recharge.com.

Weesie and his team have now launched Exclusive.com as a “creator pre-release,” offering a glimpse at what the entrepreneur will do with his new $350,000 domain name.

From a quick exploration of Exclusive.com, it looks like this venture will offer exclusive content from leading creators — whether that’s YouTube stars, Instagram influencers, or artists. This content can be accessed without even the mention of an NFT, too.

Fitness coach and Instagrammer Marco Jimenez, for example, offers access to workout programs, courses, and even offers private consultations via the platform. On first inspection, it looks like the Exclusive.com domain name will be used heavily within the project, as all content is hosted at Exclusive.com and each content creator has their own Exclusive.com profile URL.

Acquiring Exclusive.com before the launch meant that the company could confidently create a platform around this domain, bringing credibility and memorability to a new venture. A sound investment, it seems.
